Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan counts on Russian assistance for construction of a new nuclear power plant in the republic.“We are working towards extending the service life of our current plant. It is very important for Armenia to have nuclear power, and we hope to extend the service life of our plant until 2040. We want to build a new one by that time.I hope Russia will assist us in this matter. Unfortunately, our current funds are insufficient to launch the project on our own, but if our Russian colleagues help us, we are very interested in this topic,” Pashinyan said in the interview to Echo of Moscow radio station.
