First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Garegin Melkonyan said today that the Ministry had always been consistent in ensuring the efficient application of EU support programs. First Deputy Minister said this at the Workshop on Exchange of Experience on Planning, Management and Coordination of EU Assistance, which took place in Yerevan.According to him, EU has supported Armenia for 10 years in implementation of essential reforms in key sectors of Armenian economy, which will be continuous. Garegin Melkonyan remarked that the overall objective of the workshop was contributing to the improvement of the efficiency of management of the EU assistance in Armenia both from short-term and long-term perspectives.Ministry of Economic Development and Investments reports that the officials from the national bodies of EU support coordination from Serbia, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia participated in the event.First day of the workshop was dedicated to the EU cooperation framework in general, principals of programming, monitoring and coordination of EU assistance, experience in budget support operations and existing procedures in partner countries. Participants shared experience of the national coordination unites in cooperation with EU Delegations and state institutions presenting success stories and practical advices. Implementation and coordination of the EU support instruments (Twinning, TAIEX, SIGMA, CBC) and other projects, as well as communication and visibility practices of EU support in participating countries will be presented on the second day of the workshop.More than 40 representatives of beneficiary ministries and other state institutions, as well as European Delegation to Armenia are participating in the event.
