Yerevan, December 13 /Mediamax/. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is ready to continue the cooperation with Armenia after the conclusion of the “Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility” programme (PRGF). Mediamax reports that the Head of the IMF Representative Office in Armenia Nienke Oomes stated in Yerevan today that the PRGF Programme will conclude in May 2008 and did not rule out the possibility of signing a new document. According to her, the IMF has a programme, similar to the PRGF, but it does not have a financial component. Nienke Oomes noted that many countries, which do not need financial support, prefer to cooperate with the IMF. “The analysis of the economic situation in the country by the specialists of the Fund serves as a certain approving seal for the authorities”, Nienke Oomes stated. The “Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility” programme was approved in May 2005 and it provides for allocating about $35mln to Armenia. Tweet Views 6780
