Armenia, Georgia, Iran and Russia's joint meeting of energy ministers is being held in Yerevan today and tomorrow: quadripartite agreement on the prospects of development of regional energy cooperation was signed within the framework of the meeting. Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Kakha Kaladze, who is in Yerevan for this matter.According to Kakha Kaladze, the memorandum signed between Armenia, Georgia, Iran and Russia creates favorable grounds for the development of regional energy cooperation , and it is important to make efforts in order to implement mutually beneficial projects .Hovik Abrahamyan attached importance to Armenia- Georgia 400 kV power transmission line construction , as well as other joint projects. He stressed that quadrilateral memorandum will contribute to the implementation of joint projects in the energy sector in the region .The sides also discussed prospects for expanding bilateral trade and economic ties .It should be recalled that Kakha Kaladze had proposed establishment of joint regional energy network earlier.You can read Mediamax’s interview with Kakha Kaladze here.
