Bank of Russia (CB) has registered new Astrasend payment service - the second one introduced in Russia this year, RBC reports.

According to documents posted on the payment service’s website, the payment system will make domestic and international transfers. The list of countries eligible for money transfers will be posted on the payment system’s website a while ago. The transfers may be made in dollars and rubles.

The operator is Inkakhran nonbanking credit institution - a private company that provides a range of services in the field of cash collection. It was established in 1991 and received a banking license in 2015.

To note, in April 2022, Bank of Russia registered Hello payment system. The operator of this payment system is Hello LLC registered in Moscow in 2016. Transcapitalbank is the operator of the system’s payment infrastructure.



Last week, the chief of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, stated that they are interacting with foreign partners on alternatives to the Mir payment card.

“We are interacting with all the partners. It depends on each party, each party is special. We will not probably comment on details now but we endeavor to establish various alternative opportunities for our citizens frequently going to tourist trips, on business, to have the opportunity of using modern payment methods,” she said.

Earlier, the head of the National Payment Card System (NSPK), Vladimir Komlev, spoke about significant pressure on Mir and serious opposition from the United States and European countries. The United States Treasury Department announced its readiness to impose sanctions for supporting Russia’s attempts to expand the territory of use of the Mir payment system outside the Russian Federation.
