Seedstars Associate for CEE region Daria Golikova believes that Armenia has a lot of talented developers in AI and machine learning.

The Seedstars representative made that statement in the interview to Itel.am.

It’s worth reminding that on September 23 Armenia hosted Seedstars Yerevan 2017. The winner startup Chessify will represent Armenia in the Seedstars World in Switzerland.

“Chessify developed a product that is based on a really cool machine learning engine. When we were thinking who we see as the best to represent Armenia in Switzerland, the majority of juries said they saw Chessify also because of this very deep tech solution they have,” said Daria Golikova.

According to her, Seedstars changed focus a few years ago to areas such as fintech, edutech, healthtech and agritech. Daria Golikova is certain that AI can be used in any of those sectors.

“Armenian startups are definitely improving year by year. And I was glad to see this year that in a small market like Armenia, where everybody knows everyone, there were startups that presented for the first time. Armenia has all the chances to become the AI capital of the region,” she told.
