Sales of Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC, “ArArAt” brand) grew by 9.4% making 2mln 842 thousand liters in 2010-2011 fiscal year (July2010-July 2011).Addressing the press conference in Yerevan today, YBC Executive Director Ara Grigoryan informed that the low rates of the market recovery don’t allow ensuring the sales indices of the pre-crisis period yet, Mediamax reports. In 2010-2011 fiscal year, the factory’s sales are less than 2008-2009 indices by approximately 25%. “Despite the sales growth, the company’s profit decreased by approximately 25% making AMD 2bln 422mln in the accounting period which is conditioned by the decrease in prices for standard segments (3 and 5 stars) on a number of markets”, said Ara Grigoryan. He noted that the reduction of prices was aimed at boosting fast selling of the final production. Ara Grigoryan stated that the wine-ageing shop of the Berd branch of the YBC will be put into operation by the end of the year. In the accounting year, the YBC received a certificate of the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and replenished its export geography by 13 more countries – Greece, Israel, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and Uzbekistan including. According to the YBC Executive Director, Russia’s share on “ArArAt” consumption markets decreased from 70% down to 64 % and the sales in Europe grew by 47% in the accounting period. Tweet Views 4940
