Yerevan/Mediamax/. 75% of the Armenian population supports the project of establishing foreign language schools.

Mediamax reports that Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian said this today at the meeting with students of Yerevan higher educational institutions, dated to the International Student Day.

He stated that the government studied the international practice of foreign language schools’ activity and it turned out that there is no single country, which would limit the opportunity of establishment of such schools by individuals.

“So, why do we limit and take the risks of being separated from the civilized world? Our country needs specialists, knowing Turkish, Persian, Chinese, English, French, German languages better than the residents of those countries, since tomorrow our national security may be threatened by serious problems”, Tigran Sargsian stated.

Prime Minister noted that the people, who criticize establishment of foreign language schools, make only 25% of the population and only 6% of them are extremely aggressive and do not analyze the entire complexity of the issue.

“We should be a bit more restrained in our criticism, more balanced and should realize that everything that is done is done for the sake of the country’s security”, Prime Minister stated.

He also noted that modern science impetuously develops and information very quickly stops being urgent and new. “Who needs young scientists, who do not know English, whose knowledge will not be updated and will not keep pace with time?” Tigran Sargsian stated.
