Yerevan/Mediamax/. British rock stars recorded a new song in London Sarm Studios on October 6 within the framework of Rock Aid Armenia/Armenia Grateful 2 Rock project, realized by Australian “Do Something” Organization and Mediamax.

Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) and Jon Lord (ex-Deep Purple) participated in recording of “Out of My Ming” song.

Bass guitar part will be recorded separately this week by a famous American musician, whose name will be announced later.

Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi wrote “Out of My Mind” song soon after their visit to Armenia in October, 2009, within the framework of Rock Aid Armenia/Armenia Grateful 2 Rock project.

After returning from Armenia, the musicians also announced that they were setting up a special “Who Cares” band, which will aim at raising funds for rebuilding N6 Gyumri music school. Thus, recording of “Out of My Mind” song was the first initiative of “Who Cares”.

Mediamax special correspondent reports from London that the song recording in the studio on October 6 lasted almost the entire day. Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi had recorded the drafts of the composition before, but Nicko McBrain and Jon Lord were getting familiar with the material for the first time immediately at the studio. Despite that fact, both of them demonstrated huge enthusiasm and professionalism and made serious contribution to the final sound of the song. Moreover, Nicko McBrain liked this experience so much that he told Ian Gillan: “We should do such things more often”.

“Fans of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath in the entire world are waiting for this song with huge interest. The interest is also increased by the fact that Ian Gillan was the member of Black Sabbath in 1983 and the fans are waiting for new experience of cooperation between Gillan and Iommi. I can say that “Out of My Mind” is a very strong song, a wonderful example of hard rock, which, I am sure, will occupy its deserved place in the charts”, said Mediamax Director Ara Tadevosyan, who was present at the recording of the song in Sarm Studios.

It is expected that Out of My Mind song will be issued by the end of the year. Entire proceeds from its sale will be transferred to the Fund for Gyumri N6 music school rebuilding.
