Yerevan/Mediamax/. Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia have regular meetings, at least once in two months, in order to discuss numerous issues, existing in relations between the neighboring countries. Mediamax reports that Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian said this in Yerevan today, speaking at the joint news conference with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze. According to him, “there are no issues in relations with Georgia, which cannot be settled by means of negotiations and meetings”. During the meetings, which took place in Yerevan, among other issues of bilateral relations, Foreign Ministers of two countries also discussed the situation of Armenians in Georgia, development of cooperation in the sphere of energy and transport. Armenian Foreign Minister noted with pleasure that in the course of first 9 months, 2010, trade turnover between Georgia and Armenia increased by 50%, as compared to the same period of 2009, and there is the possibility to increase this index by the end of the year up to USD 200mln. He positively assessed this “positive dynamics”, adding that this year over 300 thousand tourists from Armenia visited Georgia. In his turn, Grigol Vashadze stated that Armenian-Georgian relations today are in better state than ever, due to efforts of two countries’ Presidents, and to a less degree due to the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia. According to him, discussion of issues of bilateral relations allows not turning them into problems. He welcomed the growth of trade turnover between the two countries in conditions of global financial and economic crisis, adding that “this is a shamefully low index for neighboring countries”.
