Yerevan /Mediamax/. “COMSTAR-OTS” and “Cornet-AM” announced today the launch of a national network basing## on WiMAX technology in Armenia and on introducing “COMSTAR” brand in the Armenian market.

Mediamax reports that “COMSTAR-OTS” President Sergey Pridantsev stated at a news conference in Yerevan today that the established network is not only unique for Armenia, but is also one of the first telecommunication networks of such kind in the world. He expressed confidence that the launch of this project will make “COMSTAR-OTS” the national communication operator of Armenia.

General Director of “Cornet-AM” Company Boris Demirkhanyan reminded that in summer, 2008, “Cornet-AM” submitted an application to the Public Services Regulatory Commission to receive a number capacity of 60 thousand numbers, and in the second quarter of 2009 the Company will be ready to provide services of fixed telephony in Armenia given the telephone number.

General Director of “Cornet-AM” noted that the volume of investments in the project in 2007-2008 made $4.6mln, and the volume of investments for 2009 will be defined depending on the results of network exploitation in 2008 and the market development dynamics.

WiMAX network in Armenia covers Yerevan and 18 towns in regions.

“Cornet-AM” is a subsidiary of “COMSTAR-OTS”.
