Yerevan /Mediamax/. At present, Vanadzor and Gyumri do not have sufficient customer base for the banks working in the town##, Chairman of the Union of Armenian Banks (UAB) Emil Soghomonyan stated in an interview to Mediamax. “I welcome the opening of new branches in Gyumri and Vanadzor, however the opening of bank branches in certain towns of Armenia should not become an aim in itself - the banking system should develop in the whole territory of the country”, Emil Soghomonyan stated. UAB Chairman noted that most part of Armenian banks in the nearest future will spread beyond Yerevan, which is conditioned by the strategy of the government on even territorial development of the republic.
