Yerevan /Mediamax/. “Cornet-AM” Company, a subsidiary of Russian “COMSTAR-OTS” in Armenia##, concluded the realization of the first stage of WiMAX wireless network construction.

As Mediamax was told in the press service of “COMSTAR-OTS”, the network, built by “Cornet-AM” based on WiMAX technology of wireless broadband access, consists of 24 base stations, which are connected to each other with the help of radio relay lines and rented connection channels.

The network is meant for providing the whole spectrum of telecommunication services, including: data transmission, digital telephony, high-speed internet access, organization of corporate networks (IP VPN), etc.

“We have realized the first stage of the strategic project on developing our full presence in Armenia. The next important step will be the promotion of voice connection services in the country”, “COMSTAR-OTS” Vice-President on Regional Development Victor Koresh stated.

He informed that “Cornet-AM” submitted an application to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia to be granted number capacity of 60 thousand numbers.
