Decrease of economic indices conditions by a number of reasons

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Head of the Statistical Department of the Central Bank (CB) of Armenia Martin Galstyan## presented in Yerevan today the economic indices for the first quarter of 2008.

Mediamax reports that Martin Galstyan stated that in the first quarter, the index of business-atmosphere, as compared to the same period of 2007, totaled 87.4%, the index of business activity - 92.1%, index of consumer confidence – 99.1%.

At the same time, as compared to the fourth quarter of 2007, in the first quarter of 2008 all the three indices increased and made:

business atmosphere index – 107.8%, business activity – 120.6%, index of consumer confidence – 110.3%.

According to Martin Galstyan, the decrease of economic indices as compared to the first quarter of 2007 is conditioned by a number of reasons, among which the producers and the consumers named the presidential elections, the monopolization of certain spheres of economy, consolidation of the national currency.
