Irish low-cost airline Ryanair will launch flights from Yerevan and Gyumri to several destinations in Europe in 2020.


“We are here to announce the new routes: from Yerevan to Milan Bergamo and Rome Ciampino starting on 14 January 2020 and from Yerevan to Berlin Schönefeld and Gyumri to Memmingen starting in Summer 2020,” Ryanair CCO David O’Brien has told the press in Yerevan today.

He has added that Armenia is the 40th country to join Ryanair network.

The average fare makes EUR 35.

David O’Brien has underlined that the company brings low fares but high efficiency to Armenian market.

Initially, there will be two flights per week, and if there is demand, the number of flights will be increased. Ryanair flights are direct.

“We believe that delivery of 130,000 passengers annually will also facilitate job creation in airports. If you compare our fares with those of more expensive airlines, you will see that these 130,000 passengers will save EUR 20m,” noted O’Brien.

Ryanair has issued an official statement, announcing a seat sale to celebrate the entry into Armenian market. According to the company, the seats will be sold for fares from EUR 29.99, for travel until May 2020.

Ryanair added that the seat must be booked by midnight Friday (18 October) on the Ryanair.com website, because the demand is very high.
