At the initiative of IDBank, Yerevan’s English Park turned into a small football town where people could watch all World Cup 2018 games between June 14 and July 15.

Football lovers who chose the large open-air fanzone sponsored by IDBank were also treated to good music and won various prizes in draws. Banks.am followed the bank’s football initiative until it ended with the France v Croatia game on July 15.

Throughout the tournament, local residents and guests of Armenia’s capital gathered in the park adjacent to Sundukyan Theater to sit in comfortable booths or chairs and watch the matches on the large LED display.

IDBank Chief Specialist of Marketing and PR Tatevik Hovhannisyan has emphasized that the initiative was aimed at promoting open-air events.

“IDBank doesn’t want to simply provide traditional banking services. We also aspire to hold entertaining events that would have social significance. IDBank has tried to make the World Cup period a football holiday for residents and guests of Yerevan and we hope we have managed that. I can say that the people in our fanzone cheered in all games very actively and celebrated when their team won,” she said.

The bank also held two draws ahead of the final. One only required registering and if you took the other, you would need to log in fanzone.idbank.am and guess the winner, which would bring you a gift package from IDBank if you guessed right. Many of draw winners were foreign guests of the city.


Tatevik Hovhannisyan has noted that the bank will organize similar events in the future and the fanzone in English Park marks the beginning of new initiatives. She added:

“We said after the rebranding that we want to attract clients with our new style and individual approach. For that purpose we plan to hold various initiatives in the near future. Since the bank rebranded, this is our first public event, but we will have more until the year-end. You can get the news and detailed information about our new projects via IDBank’s official website and Facebook page. We update both regularly to inform people about our initiatives.”

Famous theater and film actors as well attended the live stream of the final game and took the seats in the first two rows in front of the display.
