Mellat Bank opened its new head office in Yerevan yesterday, which will operate at 5A Tumanyan St.

“The new head office is located in the heart of Yerevan, and we hope that modern design and comfortable interior of the office will please our clients and create favorable conditions for our staff,” said Mellat Bank Executive Director Seyed Gholamreza Mousavi.

According to him, recent activation of Iran’s economy and growing flow of Iranian tourists to Armenia facilitated the increase in the number of the bank’s clients.

“As a commercial bank, we are interested in increasing our profit, but we also have a mission to help Armenian families and entrepreneurs improve their lives, develop economy and make Armenia a more powerful country,” Executive Director stressed.

He informed that Mellat Bank intends to expand its activity in Armenia by opening new branches.

Seyed Gholamreza Mousavi announced that the bank increased its capital nearly a month ago, and as a result Mellat Bank’s share capital reached AMD 32.1bln, and the normative capital made AMD 31bln.

The bank’s Chairman of the Board Mohammad Bigdeli noted that being one of Iran’s largest banks, Mellat Bank decided to expand its activity in the region after lifting of the sanctions, considering opening an office in Georgia as well, which will work under the auspices of the Yerevan office.
