Yerevan, November 3 /Mediamax/. Armenian President Robert Kocharian stated in Yerevan today that the banking system of the republic, despite its small size, is “healthy and viable”. As Mediamax was told in the presidential press service today, Robert Kocharian said this today at the meeting with the Head of the Central Bank of Russia Sergey Ignatyev and the Head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Anvar Saidenov, who arrived in Yerevan to take part in the regular session of the Council of the CIS Interstate Bank. According to the President, the main tasks for the future are connected to the enlarging of the financial sector of the republic. The Armenian President noted that the reforms, carried out during the recent years, allow developing insurance, mortgage and pension services in the country. Robert Kocharian described as “effective” the cooperation of Armenia with the Interstate Bank, noting that with the active participation of that structure serious programs were realized in the energy sector of the republic. The participants of the meeting also discussed the prospects of cooperation of the Interstate Bank with the Eurasian Bank for Development. Tweet Views 6814
