Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif stated today that Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) creates beneficial prospects for developing commercial and economic ties between Armenia and Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister said in reply to Mediamax correspondent’s question during a press conference with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan today. Mohammad Javad Zarif recalled that Armenia, Iran and Russia already cooperate in telecommunication field and there are all the preconditions for developing it in other fields.“In this regard, Armenia’s membership to the EEU creates beneficial prospects”, said the Iranian Minister. Edward Nalbandian noted that the Armenian side is considering all the options so as the EEU membership could have a positive impact on economic cooperation with neighboring countries as well.Mohammad Javad Zarif reconfirmed that official Yerevan and Tehran have “the serious political will” to implement projects in energy, economy and telecommunication fields, particularly building of Iran-Armenia railway and Meghri Hydro Plant.“There is a political will for implementing the programs.
