The results of the tender for selling 90% share of the Armenian telecommunications company ArmenTel may be summed up not in July as reported earlier but in mid or late August, an informed source told Mediamax. According to the source, the second stage of the contest in underway now. Four operators take part in this stage: the Russian MTS and Beeline operators and two consortiums - the first one set up by Emirates Telecommunications Corp (ETISALAT), Istithmar PJSC and Emergent Telecom Ventures (ETV) and the second is composed of VTEL Holdings and Knightsbridge Associates. MTS spokesman Kiril Alyavdin said in the interview with Mediamax that “the price proposals of the tender participants will be voiced at the third and the final stage.” “We hope the tender will be over by late July. We can’t tell you anything more, as set by the terms of the contract with the seller,” Yulia Ostroukhova, Beeline spokeswoman told Mediamax. On July 18, the Executive Director of ETISALAT operator [United Arab Emirates], Mohammad Halfan al-Kamzi, reiterated the intention to purchase ArmenTel.
