Google Finance gets an app

Google has launched a dedicated mobile app for its recently revamped, AI-infused, financial data, news and analytics service.

Last year, Google Finance was given a major overhaul, offering users AI responses to detailed questions about the financial world and complex research questions, as well as a host of charting tools and live news feeds.

The service is now coming out of beta with added features. Users will see all investments consolidated in a single dashboard that shows performance data, as well as insights on asset allocation and more.

Existing Google Finance portfolios will be available automatically, or users can create a new one by dropping in screenshots or uploading files that detail holdings. Or, they can just describe their investments to get started and build from there.

Meanwhile, a dedicated Google Finance app for Android is landing, with an iOS version arriving later in the year. The app is a dedicated place to access watchlists, see real-time data, a live financial news feed, the AI research tool and AI-powered “key moments” that explain why a stock moved.
