SMBC develops its analogue of a chatbot for the banking sector

Japanese Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Group (SMBC) is developing its own AI-based chatbot that will be used to create bank documentation and support staff.

Citing NHK TV channel, TASS reports that SMBC teamed up with Microsoft Japan office for the development of the chatbot.

The bot will prepare bank documentation and help in organization of internal accounting. It will work autonomously without the possibility of external access, which will make it reliable and protected from hacking. SMBC expects to begin its full application by the summer of 2023.
