The first store of French Carrefour chain of hypermarkets officially opened in Yerevan today. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan also attended the opening ceremony which took place in Yerevan Mall multifunctional complex.Preliminary Lease Agreement between Carrefour and Yerevan Mall was signed back in May 2014 at the presence of Serzh Sargsyan and French President Francois Hollande within his official visit. Carrefour Armenia Country Manager Christian de Nale told journalists that all of their special offers will be much more affordable than those of their competitors’.According to him, Yerevan Carrefour will give priority to Armenian producers.Christian de Nale noted that the key to their success is the attractive prices at the store.''Of course, we are going to expand. As a city with 1 mln population, Yerevan deserves to have not a single but several Carrefours'', said the head of the hypermarket. The first Carrefour store opened in Paris in 1963.
