British Business School officially opened in the Armenian State Economic University (ASEU) on September 24.“I think introduction of British foremost experience in Armenia a significant achievement. The program was implemented as a result of cooperation of ASEU and British “Globe Education”. Today’s challenges suggest that steps toward internationalization are needed to develop our education system. This initiative is a good example of internationalization of higher educational institutions and enhancing of universities’ reputation”, noted Armenian Prime Minister, Chairman of Board of ASEU Hovik Abrahamyan.The PM highlighted the fact that as the only one in the region, the British Business School assumes a regional status giving a chance to foreigners to get education meeting British standards.“The ASEU have been implementing reforms under “We Change” slogan over 3 years which have been aimed at strengthening of the university’s reputation, improvement of educational environment and education quality and development of research in the university”, noted the ASEU Rector Koryun Atoyan.He stressed the importance of opening of “Amberd” research center in the university which “claims to become a leading center offering expert approaches and analyses needed for development of various economy fields and Armenian government structures”.U.K. Ambassador to Armenia Catherine Leach, LSC Chairman of Board, member of British Laborist Party Lord John Tomlinson, representatives of Anglia Ruskin University as well as Armenian government members and National Assembly MPs.
