The third international banking conference “Development of the retail banking business in the region” opened in Tbilisi, June 29. The conference has been organized by the People’s Bank of Georgia.

As Black Sea Press agency was told in the bank, the conference aims to bring the regional banking sectors together as well as discuss the prospects of development of the service of quick money transfers and plastic cards.

Representatives of the banks from Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, USA and Ukraine are taking part in the conference.

Besides, operator-companies of quick money transfers are also taking part in the conference: Anelik, MoneyGram, Telegiros, Contact, Migom, VMT, Interexpress, Unistream, Express Money, Travelex Money Transfer, GazPromBank Express, Caucasus Express, Quick Post, PrivatMoney, STB-Express and Sberbank-SMP.

Representatives of companies producing modern banking technologies also attend the conference: Wincor Nixdorf, NCR, Compassplus, ROZAN and the Center of Financial Technologies.

Within the framework of the conference VISA International, for the first time, conducts an exhibition of new payment technologies through VISA “Avenue 2010” plastic cards.
