Fitch Rating agency has assigned the Republic of Armenia a sovereign credit rating BB with a Stable Outlook, the press service of the Armenian Central Bank (CB) told Mediamax today. This is the first time that Armenia has been assigned Fitch’s sovereign rating. David Riley, Managing Director of Fitch’s Sovereigns Group, said that “Armenia’s sovereign credit ratings are supported by prudent macroeconomic policies and a declining public and external debt burden that compares favorably with rated peers."
