Yerevan, May 29. /Mediamax/. The Central Bank (CB) of Armenia announced today that beginning May 31, a new banknote in nominal value of 10000 drams, issued in 2006, will be introduced. The decision was made at the session of the Council of the Central Bank, Mediamax reports. The banknotes in nominal value of 10000 drams, issued in 2003, will remain in circulation without any restrictions and changes. Like the banknote of 2003, the new one depicts the eminent Armenian poet Avetik Isayakian and an episode of Martiros Saryan’s drawing “Aragats”. The back of the banknote depicts old town of Gyumri.
