Introduction of common currency within Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) hasn’t been discussed and there is no such issue on the draft agreement.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhintzhan Sagintaev said this at a briefing in Astana, Trend reports.

“I don’t know where the rumors come from. There will be no common currency. Tenge remains”, said Sagintaev.

Mediamax notes that some officials and media in Armenia from time to time express the opinion that membership to the Customs Union and Eurasian Economic Union may entail waiving from the national currency.
