The call for applications and selection of the students is implemented by an independent body - UWC Armenian National Committee. The committee is set up by UWC. The final admission decision is made by UWC Dilijan on the basis of proposals made by UWC Armenian National Committee. UWC selection is held solely on a competitive basis – the preference is given to gifted and socially active young people irrespective of their origins. Such selection system provides equal opportunities for the candidates, irrespective of their nationality, religion, language and their parents’ financial state, as well as allows to bring together interesting young people with innovative thinking, people who are socially active and creative and who represent various cultures. The 90% of UWC Dilijan students will get full scholarships granted by donors. As to students entering UWC schools in other countries, various schools offer different conditions. To give an example, UWC School in Singapore is ready to propose one place for one Armenian student and to cover all expenses related to his studies. Several UWC schools offer places without scholarships and in this case, students should cover their expenses on their own. On exceptional occasions, UWC Dilijan founders may get involved in the process of attracting sponsors. Tweet Views 7748
