Yerevan/Mediamax/. Once again, Armenia leads the field in this region in the number of successful ACCA finalists following the June 2012 examinations. As Mediamax was informed by IAB Centre, seven Armenians managed to successfully complete their final examinations this time, compared to none in Georgia and four in Azerbaijan. This year’s results will bring the number of qualified ACCA professionals in Armenia to 58, a number that far exceeds those in any of our neighbouring countries. In order to obtain the prestigious ACCA qualification students must successfully complete 14 examination subjects, and have the relevant working experience. ACCA provides a balanced qualification with excellent coverage of the core areas of accounting, business management and finance. The broad range of skills developed by an ACCA trainee can be applied in a variety of employment sectors, including professional practice, industry, public utilities, and non-profit organizations. ACCA members working in industry often become chief financial officers with executive board responsibilities. ACCA is most suitable for someone who has a university degree. It is not necessary for that degree to be in a business or economics related discipline. In fact, trainees with degrees in irrelevant fields, such as languages or music, tend to be very successful in the accounting profession. In 2002, IAB Centre was admitted by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, as an accredited training provider and has continuously been granted approval by ACCA at each year’s quality control review since then. Since 2008, IAB Centre has been a Licensed Computer-based Examination (CBE) Centre for ACCA. «IAB Centre is proud to be associated with the remarkable achievement of these graduates and overall in the development of the accounting and auditing profession in Armenia», the press release reads.
