MP from “Dashnaktsutyun” faction Artsvik Minasyan stated today that the country’s authorities should take braver measures on the tax collection.Speaking about the new tax package submitted to the National Assembly by the government, Artsvik Minasyan stated that “Dashnaktsutyun” was seriously concerned about the changes in the initial phase and urged the government to facilitate the tax burden of small and medium enterprise in particular, Mediamax reports “Budget revenues in our country are still at a low level- they don’t exceed 17% of GDP. Besides, the shadow economy in Armenia is within 40% meaning that we have many unutilized resources and we should take braver measures on tax payments”, said the MP. In his turn, MP from RPA, representative of the National Assembly Permanent Commission on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan stated that the coalition has been thoroughly working at the new tax package which implies increase in the tax burden of big business for already a month and a half.According to him, the new tax package has been discussed with businessmen for 2-3times and there have been no complaints on their part.Former Chairman of Central Bank of Armenia Bagrat Asatryan expressed his concern about the fact that the tax package mentioned above had not been published yet. “The more transparent tax reforms, the better for the country, society and authorities”, said Bagrat Asatryan.
