Today, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received the Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Jan Fischer, who arrived in Yerevan to define the priorities of the bank’s new strategy for Armenia.Jan Fischer said that EBRD hails the realization of programs aimed at the development of small and medium enterprises and the private sector.Tigran Sargsyan highlighted the importance of stimulating the crediting of small and medium enterprises and especially stressed the importance of provision of technical assistance by EBRD. The head of the government described as prospective the development of cooperation in the sphere of health, pension and financial sectors, as well as insurance.Speaking about the possibility of cooperation in the sphere of infrastructure development, the interlocutors discussed the program “Complex border management in the South Caucasus” realized by the UN Development Program and financed by the EU. In particular, the parties discussed EBRD’s participation in the reconstruction and modernization of border check points.
