As of October 1, 2011, the number of the cards issued by Unibank exceeded 73.2 thousand having increased by 20% against the same index of 2010.Visa cards made 55.1 thousand and local ArCa cards – 18.1 thousand out of the overall number of cards, Mediamax was informed in the bank’s press service. As of October 1, Unibank’s own chain of self-service devices comprises 79 ATMs and 546 POS-terminals. As of now, credit cards make 90% of the bank’s cards. Constant+ is the bank’s one of the most popular credit cards and it is meant for university lecturers, healthcare specialists, international and state institutions and individuals with a paycheck of at least AMD 250 000.Constant+ credit cards are meant for satisfying consumer needs: the client can particularly make purchases in shops, pay for services and get cash through the card.Debtors can be granted with a Visa Electron or Visa Classic credit card with a limit of up to AMD 2mln and for up to 24 months. The annual interest rate of the card makes 18-20%, depending on the currency of the credit funds. The interest is credited to the sum which the client has actually spent. “The strategy of Unibank’s card business development is based on establishing line of credit products for a broad scope of clients and providing the service on a high level. Unibank’s activity on the card market is built on the basis of this notion. We already rank among top 5 of leaders of Armenian banking system by the number of issued cards and we plan to substantially improve our positions in the nearest future. Unibank will start an emission of Visa chip cards within its own processing center in November, 2011. Upon issuing the chip cards, the bank will get extra opportunities for implementing new and interesting projects aimed at enhancing the loyalty of clients which will allow us sum up the year having an index of 110 thousand cards”, stated Director of Card Business Development of Unibank Mesrop Hakobyan.
