Yerevan/Mediamax/. The Mayor of the town of Dilijan Armen Santrosyan stated today that there is an intention to make Dilijan the financial center of the country.

Addressing a press conference today, Armen Santrosyan said that by the start of the project there  were only branches of “VTB Bank Armenia” and “Ardshininvestbank” in Dilijan, and now “ACBA- CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK”, “ARARATBANK” and “AMERIABANK” have also opened their branches, Mediamax reports.

The Mayor of Dilijan stated that in the framework of the program the central building of Dilijan’s library, which has been fully repaired, was passed on to the disposal of the Central Bank of Armenia. According to him, an administrative building and a cottage district for CB employees (for 100-150 families) will be built within the framework of the project. The project will be completed in January 2013.
 
Armen Santrosyan also noted that representatives of the private sector will realize investment programs in Dilijan mainly in the sphere of tourism.

“There are over 30 functioning holiday homes in Dilijan, and the stay price there ranges from AMD 3000 up to AMD 150 000 per day”, stated Dilijan Mayor.
