Chairman of the Standing Parliamentary Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan said today that the changes in the anti-monopoly legislation will be approved at the upcoming parliamentary session. He said that interesting shifts to the benefit of industry are observed in Armenian economy. Mediamax reports that Gagik Minasyan said that by becoming more diversified, the Armenian economy gradually becomes less vulnerable for external shocks. He expressed confidence that despite the slow-down in the economic growth speeds and the struggle against inflation, observed from the beginning of the year, the year will be completed by the planned (4.6%) and even higher index of economic growth. Touching upon inflation, Gagik Minasyan stated that a strong tool in the struggle against this phenomenon will be the changes in the law on “Protection of Economic Competition”, which will not allow importers receiving excessive profits due to ungrounded increase of prices.
