Yerevan/Mediamax/. MP from “Dashnaktsutiun” faction Ara Nranyan said today that economic growth zero index brightly reflects the real state of affairs in Armenian economy.

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, economic activity index in March, 2011, did not change as compared to the analogous period last year.

Mediamax reports that Ara Nranyan expressed an opinion that last year GDP growth was practically fully conditioned by growth of prices for metals, and the Armenian economy “continued standing still”.

Director of “Alternative” Analytical Center, Doctor of Economics Tatul Manaseryan in his turn noted that as long as the Armenian government is unable to differentiate between the global financial-economic crisis and the domestic problems of Armenia, the economy will not advance.

“Some CIS countries have significantly benefited from the global crisis because of the fact that they secured large-scale import of equipment at symbolic prices from developed countries, on which the crisis had direct influence. Obviously Armenia did not manage to use this opportunity and modernize its economy, since our authorities gave tax benefits only to large companies, which imported equipment at the cost of USD 1mln and more”, Tatul Manaseryan said.
