Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia’s economic activity index in January 2011 has grown by 7,7% as compared to January 2010. Mediamax reports that since early 2011, instead of publishing the GDP growth and decrease index, the National Statistical Service of Armenia publishes the economic activity index. The volume of industrial production in January made AMD 63bln 316.8mln, having increased by 5.7% as compared to January 2010. 2.5% decrease, as compared to January 2010, was marked in the agricultural sector (AMD 18bln 454.2mln). 0.9% growth was fixed in the construction sphere (AMD 10bln 514mln). The retail trade turnover remained unchanged as compared to January 2010, thus making AMD 100bln 025.3mln; the volume of services (without trade) has grown by 24.3% (AMD 62bln 839.6mln).
