Yerevan/Mediamax/. The share of industry in Armenian GDP makes 23.5% as of the end of the year.

Mediamax reports that Chairman of the Union of Domestic Commodity Producers (UDCP) of Armenia Vazgen Safaryan said this at a news conference in Yerevan today.

“As of December 1, Armenia produced commodity at the sum of 734bln AMD”, Safaryan stated. According to him, over 50% of these goods fall on the share of the processing industry, including drinks.

UDCP Chairman noted that in GDP, industry provides for stable growth, which makes 6.6%. At that he noted that this index will make 4.6% next year.

“It is necessary to take up required steps for the share of industry not to reduce, but on the contrary to increase”, he added. According to him, UDCP will cooperate with the government of the country as to this issue.
