Yerevan/Mediamax/. "VTB Bank (Armenia)" is the leader according to efficiency among the banks of VTB Group in CIS countries.

Mediamax reports that "VTB Bank (Armenia)" CEO Valeri Ovsyannikov said this at the news conference in Yerevan today. He stressed that despite small sizes of the Armenian market, the potential of the banking sector is huge.

Valery Ovsyannikov said that crisis demonstrated that in the first place it is necessary to think of optimization and efficiency of the activity. "Exactly in terms of this the merging of banks in Armenian market takes place, since the matter does not concern quantity but the facilities of the banking system to render proper service to the customer", Valeri Ovsyannikov said.

"VTB Bank (Armenia)" Head commented on the current risks in Armenian economy, stressing that in the first place these are the risks of market diversification. He noted that economy’s dependence on import is a significant risk, which influences national currency forecasts. Valeri Ovsyannikov believes that in connection with this domestic exporter producers need special attention, which will allow struggling against inflation and minimizing diversification risk.
