Yerevan/Mediamax/. Conflicting tendencies are observed in Armenian economy. Mediamax reports that such an opinion was voiced at a news conference in Yerevan today by former Armenian MP, Doctor of Economy Tatul Manaseryan. According to him, on the one hand there is certain positive shift; however it is conditioned mainly by growth of international prices for molybdenum and copper. Decline in agriculture had serious influence on the country’s economy, Tatul Manaseryan noted. Inefficient policy is carried out in this sphere, according to the economist. Tatul Manaseryan stressed that Armenian economy possesses huge potential, which is not used at the moment. According to him, the capacities of Armenia are in the shade. “If the economy of the country is hardly developing, the shadow economy registers fast growth”, Tatul Manaseryan stated. He also noted high interest rates in the banking sector, which hinder development of small and medium entrepreneurship. The economist suggested the government dictating rules and establishing interest rates of no higher than 5-6%. Tatul Manaseryan noted that professional and material potential of the Armenian Diaspora is not used purposefully either. Tweet Views 11207
