Yerevan/Mediamax/. Establishment of minimum cognac price level in Russia will by no means touch upon production of Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC, “ArArAt” brand). Mediamax reports that YBC CEO Ara Grigoryan said this in Yerevan today. Establishment of the minimum price level for cognac within the range of 200 RR (about USD 7) aims at reducing the number of counterfeit cognacs and will by no means harm our export, since the minimum price, at which “ArArAt” cognac is sold in the Russian market, makes 650 RR (about USD 22)”. Ara Grigoryan informed that the draft law on establishing minimum prices for cognac is lobbied in Armenia as well. Commenting on the presence of spirits in the Armenian market, named “Armenian Cognac” and sold at the price of 1100 AMD (USD 3), he noted that such a price is suspicious, noting that it should become an object of attention from the part of law enforcement bodies. According to YBC CEO, the company, in particular, gains almost no profit from sale of “three stars” cognacs in the Armenian market, the release price of which makes AMD 3000 (USD 8). Tweet Views 12764
