Yerevan/Mediamax/. Minister of Science and Education of Armenia Armen Ashotyan expressed hope today that DILIJAN International School project will be implemented. Armen Ashotyan said this, answering the question of Mediamax on whether he had met with the initiators of DILIJAN International School project after publication of their open letter to the Public Council. Minister stated that he had met with Ruben Vardanyan within the framework of the session of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia’s Board of Trustees, which took place in Yerevan recently, and had discussed this project with him. Armen Ashotyan assured that the draft law on changes in the law “On Language” is by no means conditioned by DILIJAN International School project, “and the necessity of those changes will occur sooner or later”. “I learned the other day that Georgian authorities plan to invite foreign teachers to teach English language. We had the idea of bilingual teaching many years ago, and obviously this is an international tendency. I believe that bilingual society is becoming one of the laws of civilized development”, Armen Ashotyan stated.He also noted that the Ministry of Education does not comment on various speculations around this issue and only hopes that DILIJAN International School project will be implemented.
