Yerevan/Mediamax/. Private transfers, entering from abroad, make 12-13% of Armenia’s GDP. Mediamax reports that the Minister of Economy of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan said this today, speaking at the symposium on issues of economic and social influence of migration, money transfers and the Diaspora. Minister noted that the topic of economic and social influence of migration is urgent for developing countries. “The Diaspora plays a special role for us, since only 1/3 of 10mln Armenians resides in Armenia”, Nerses Yeritsyan stated. Minister said that the Armenian government, jointly with the World Bank, works over a project, which will allow transforming private money transfers into investments, which will become a source of economic growth. The organizers of the symposium, which will last will June 25, are the World Bank and the Economic Development and Research Center. Tweet Views 10932
