Yerevan /Mediamax/. Credit portfolio of “Farm Credit Armenia” Universal Credit Organization (UCO) increased 2.7 times in 2009. Mediamax was informed in the press service of the company that these data were publicized by Chief Executive Officer of “Farm Credit Armenia” Armen Gabrielyan at the general meeting of shareholders. The number of the organization’s member shareholders reached 176 in 2009, having increased 2.2 times. Armen Gabrielyan stressed that the year of 2010 will be a breakthrough and laborious one for “Farm Credit Armenia” as to expanding activity. U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch noted that increase of the company’s capital will allow it cooperating with international investors and receiving funding to provide credit and leasing services. According to USDA Coordinator in Armenia and Georgia Fred Johnston, “Farm Credit Armenia” is one of the most successful projects of U.S. Department of Agricultural in the South Caucasus.
