Yerevan /Mediamax/. “ProCredit Bank” managed to make significant achievements in the banking sector of the country in two years of activity in Armenia.

Mediamax reports that Executive Director of “ProCredit Bank” Berthold Hertzfeldt said this at the event, devoted to two year anniversary of the bank’s activity in Armenia.

According to Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan, small and medium enterprise plays an important role in developing Armenia’s economy. In this connection, he highlighted “ProCredit Bank” as the leading creditor in the given sphere. “Only in the course of two years of the bank’s activity in Armenian market, it has, nevertheless, managed to occupy its positions”, Vache Gabrielyan stressed.

Deputy Chairman of CB stated that especially positive are the bank’s indices for the year of 2009, which increased in all directions despite the economic crisis. He informed that if the assets of the banking sector of Armenia increased by 30% in 2009, the assets of “ProCredit Bank” increased by 60%. Vache Gabrielyan also noted importance of economy crediting in the crisis period, stressing that the bank’s credit portfolio increased by 14% in 2009. 

“It is important for us for “ProCredit Bank” to continue increasing crediting of small and medium entrepreneurship, which contributes to economic growth in Armenia”, Vache Gabrielyan stated.

As the Chairman of “ProCredit Bank” Board Christoph Freytag stated, “two years ago we stated that we wanted to become a reliable partner for small and medium entrepreneurship. Summing up the results of two years’ activity, one can state with confidence that we have managed to do that”.

“We realize that crediting of small and medium enterprise is very important for Armenia’s economy and have the most responsible attitude towards it”, Christoph Freytag stated.--0--
