Yerevan /Mediamax/. A seminar on issues of IT security audit for heads of banks, credit and financial organizations, was launched in Yerevan today. As Hayk Asriyants, Marketing and Sales Manager of Apaga Technologies Company, which organized the seminar, informed Mediamax, the urgency of the seminar is conditioned by development of the banking sector and implementation of information technologies, which leads to increase in risks of IT security. According to him, the seminar aims at revealing the next steps on improving IT security in the banking sector. Hayk Asriyants stated that IT security audit will allow having a clear, all-comprehensive and unbiased assessment of the situation, as opposed to internal audit. He noted that IT security audit will also allow defining how necessary the current decisions are, as well as significantly reducing expenses for IT, since it offers a more optimal and efficient decision, and understanding whether the internal banking norms meet international standards, the local legislation and the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) law. According to him, compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley law is especially important for banks, which intend to enter IPO in future, since it is the most systematized legislation act in the world. Hayk Asriyants also stressed that “the goal of the seminar is to help banks elaborate efficient orders for activity and not reveal their mistakes”. “Audit is a team work, and we intend to make joint efforts with bank specialists to achieve results”, Hayk Asriyants stated.
