Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian stated today that the global financial-economic crisis revealed the weaknesses of the Armenian economy. “The year of 2009 demonstrated that Armenia is late as to reforms in the real sector, and we should diversify economy and establish more auspicious atmosphere to attract foreign investments”, the Prime Minister stated, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan today. Tigran Sargsian noted that despite the crisis, the government fulfilled its social commitments fully and has no internal debts. The Prime Minister stated that Armenia enters the year of 2010 being “prepared”. “The remainder on the accounts of the government makes 80bln AMD, 54bln are on the account of the Stabilization Fund and the European Union expressed readiness to render financial assistance at the volume of 100mln EUR.
