Yerevan /Mediamax/. Presentation of a “Simplified Guidebook” on tax accounting, meant for small and medium enterprises (SME), took place in Yerevan today. Mediamax reports that, while presenting the manual, Director of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SMEDNC) Ishkhan Karapetyan stated that the first simplified manual on tax accounting for SME was published in 2008, as a result of SMEDNC and OSCE Yerevan Office cooperation. According to Ishkhan Karapetyan, the decision to publish the updated version of the guidebook was made, taking into account the high demand for it and a number of recent legislative changes, regulating SME sphere. The guidebook, in particular, presents new approaches for tax accounting, brings examples, clarifying the peculiarities of applying the law provisions. The guidebook presents the procedures of composing a number of statements in detail. The Head of OSCE Yerevan Office Sergey Kapinos noted the importance of such an initiative and activity of the Armenian government, directed at improving tax regulation and reducing administrative barriers on the way of entrepreneurship. At that the Ambassador noted the necessity to eliminate shortcomings, which yet exist in this sphere, paying attention to the fact that in the latest “Doing Business” rating of the World Bank, Armenian occupies the 153rd place among 180 countries as to simplicity of tax accounting procedures. The guidebook is elaborated by Logicon Developments Company at the initiative of SMEDNC, it passed expertise in the Association of Accountants and Auditors of Armenia, the Accounting Center of SMEDNC, as well as in State Revenue Committee of Armenia. The guidebook is published, given support of OSCE Yerevan office. Ishkhan Karapetyan noted that the guidebook is not meant for sale and anyone may get it for free by visiting the office of the branches of SMEDNC accounting center and presenting a seal (for legal entities), or a copy of the state register certificate for a private entrepreneur.
