Armenia’s Financial Sector Development Program (FSDP) of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) updated equipment and program support of ACRA Credit Bureau, as well as provided support in improving business processes and implementation of corporate management. Mediamax reports that, speaking on Wednesday at an event, devoted to completing the program that started in 2006, Deputy Head of USAID Mission in Armenia John Seong noted importance of improving the functioning of the only Credit Bureau in Armenia in conditions of the global financial crisis. ACRA Director Artak Arzoyan informed that the total volume of FSDP support for the Credit Bureau made 41mln AMD, as a result of which, in particular, the Credit Bureau received equipment, meeting international standards and allowing issuing up to 1500 credit histories in an hour. Artak Arzoyan noted importance of supporting the Bureau in conditions of increase in demand for credit history inquiries. According to ACRA report, the number of credit history inquiries in July, 2009, made about 18 thousands, having increased for over twice in a year.
