Yerevan /Mediamax/. World Bank positively assesses the crisis prevention measures of the Armenian government; Head of Yerevan office of WB Aristomene Varoudakis said this in Yerevan today. Mediamax reports that at the same time he stated that WB does not approve of the draft law, suggested by the Armenian government, on making changes in the tax legislation, which provide for toughening tax administration concerning companies, the annual turnover of which exceeds 4bln AMD (about $10mln). Aristomene Varoudakis noted that to reduce the corruption risks, one should minimize the physical contact between taxpayers and the inspector. Head of WB Yerevan office expressed opinion that the economic decline in Armenia following the results of 2009 will make 9-9.5%. “However, in 2010, we expect growth of GDP within the range of 1.5-5%”, he noted.
